The build went fairly smooth. The after market CPU cooler was huge! in fact it was so large it actually touched the northbridge heat sink, but it is a very quite fan. The power supply fan was the only audible item from a distance. I read cutting the metal grill away from the power supply fan will quite it down some (See Here). There was plenty of room for the RAM, DVD Player, and up to 2 3.5" HD. The north bridge temperature staid steady at 51 degrees Celsius. The CPU temperature kept a constant 41 degrees Celsius.

Here is everything you get with the Gigabyte motherboard. I found Windows 7 Beta once the driver disk was installed everything worked from Video to SPDIF and HDMI audio. The Ubuntu 9.04 version of Linux has a fully functional NVidia video driver but I was NOT successful getting fully function audio. After a ton of research on the internet I found one post that someone was successful getting Ubuntu audio working. I have yet to verify if his solution works I'll be sure to post the solution here once I find a successful one.

Here is the HTPC box fully loaded and running. The plastic shroud on the case cover used to duct the air straight into the cpu fan had to be removed because the Zalman cpu fan was so tall. The plastic shroud is not necessary with the after market cpu fan and can be removed very easily by removing 4 screws.

The 110mm Zalman cooler just fit inside. Had to trim some of the fins on the northbridge heatsink for it to fit on the motherboard. With out trimming the heatsink on the northbridge (the gold heatsink in the image below) the fins of both heatsinks would interlock like fingers about 3mm. This large fan actively cools the NVidia Geforce 9400 quite nicely.

Not a big deal and something you would expect with a micro-atx case, but notice you have to remove the screws and slide the DVD Player forward if you want to remove or add Ram.
